Trump threatens Canada tariffs or becoming 51st state
There has been a lot of press about Canada as the 51st state & 25% tariffs on Canadian exports. Likely it's just rhetoric.
A North American Union could be the answer
Clearly Canada has no desire to be the 51st state. NAFTA (1994) became USMCA (2020), set to be redone in 2026 - a third revamp of a 21 year old framework won't be sufficient. It's time to be innovative on trade and Canada / US relations! The EU worked in Europe why not something similar in North America?
